West Ham United have made a last-minute swoop for Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen. The Winger has been linked with multiple clubs throughout January and only has six months left on his contract.

Bowen has been linked to a lot of premier league clubs during the January Transfer Window. Yesterday he appeared to be heading to London rivals, Crystal Palace. The Hammer’s however, appear to have jumped the queue and hijacked the deal and agreed their own deal worth £22 million pounds for the Englishman. The Hull City winger has been reported to be traveling to West Ham today for a medical ahead of his potential transfer.

Bowen has had a very prominent rise in the last two seasons, he has scored 39 goals and assisted 11 since the start of the 2018/19 season in all competitions. He is currently the third top goal-scorer in the championship, only two behind Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrović and Brentford’s Ollie Watkins.

If Bowen can hit the ground running, he could have a massive effect at pushing West Ham up the league table and away from the bottom three. Bowen is a very attacking player and will offer the Hammer’s a lot going forward. According to WhoScored.com the 23-year-old averages 3.6 shots and also averages 1.5 key passes per match. This means that Bowen could hopefully be scoring and assisting goals for the Hammers.

Bowen plays predominantly as a winger but interestingly is able to play off a target man. Therefore, he might become the perfect man to play next to record signing Sébastien Haller. The Frenchmen has often been left isolated up front for West Ham, so the signing of Bowen could provide the perfect partnership for the Hammers.

As mentioned, the exciting attacking option is on his way to East London for a medical ahead of the ambitious move by relegation battling West Ham. Should he put his name on the dotted line, the Hammers appear to have themselves a real player in Bowen.
