Although there is very clearly a difference in quality between the Hammers and Liverpool, West Ham must show that they care about the rest of this season and the future of the club.

Let me start off by saying I think there is no way that any West Ham fans should expect to win against Liverpool, who the Irons play in two out of their next four matches in the Premier League. Liverpool this season are absolutely dominant and have the potential to be one of the greatest sides the Premier League has ever seen.

That being said, this West Ham fan wants to see the squad show some passion and desire and to try and at least put out an effort that makes West Ham fans proud.

The Hammers are currently dealing with injuries in the squad, have some instability at manager, and of course, incompetent ownership. However, there is simply no excuse from these players to continue putting out the efforts they have displayed in the previous matches for the Irons. Yes, these players may not be good enough, but that is no excuse for a lack of effort and passion.

We can slate the board as much as we want and it would be 100% deserved, however, the fact of the matter is that the only thing that can potentially keep West Ham United in the Premier League after this season is our players. We need to start seeing better efforts from our top players.

Players in the squad such as Manuel Lanzini, Sebastien Haller, and so many more have an abundance of talent and skill. We have seen it on display before. But as of right now, the effort seems to be lacking and the players in our squad don’t seem to care as much as the fan-base. That is a massive problem that goes beyond the lack of transfers or squad depth. That mentality can be changed.

When West Ham play Liverpool two times over the next four matches, don’t focus on the results as much as the energy and fight our players give. When it comes down to it, all we can ask as supporters is for the players in the squad to fight for the club we all love. Everyone in the West Ham squad must raise their intensity level and give us a few matches to be proud of.
