West Ham United: Will the real Albian Ajeti please stand up?
One of the more constant question marks for West Ham this season is whether or not Albian Ajeti will become a good signing. Has he proven it, and what could he do with a full 90 minutes?
It was easy to see the hype that followed the Switz international when he came in from FC Basel to West Ham in the summer. Averaging a goal in every two matches and even getting solid time in against other tough European teams seemed like the hype was real.
It is also easy to see how quickly that light faded for Albian Ajeti and how quickly the West Ham fan base has turned his hype into question marks. There are always two sides to every story and the other side to this is that maybe, just maybe he hasn’t been given the time needed.
Since David Moyes took back over in East London, Ajeti seemed like an afterthought and to be honest, bringing him in after the 80th minute last Saturday seemed that same way but Ajeti had his own agenda in mind. That agenda was to push hard and try his best to create that long-awaited chance.

That chance never happened but you could feel I switch in not only the intensity of the match for the Hammers but a true and genuine shot that they could get the lead and walk away with all three points. Heck… even luck was on his side after his aggressiveness almost went too far.
In all honesty, he seems like a younger, less proven, Chichartio. He craves off of the ball in the box and loves to play off of another attacker. So in that sense, it makes sense why the board sold Chicha when they knew the potential of Ajeti. The problem is that he just hasn’t shown up yet.
After seeing just a glimpse of his passion and drive against Everton makes the thought of him playing a full 90′ next to Sebastien Haller, mouth-watering. The way both of them feed well off of other attackers suits the situation and would have both the defense and the keepers busy.
Identity crisis? No, lack of playtime and poor positioning? Maybe but the question remains the same, will the real Albian Ajeti please stand up? No one is saying that he will be the next world beater but with his qualities to strive for an attacking option, why not get him in there and now!
