Would you take Ross Barkley on loan at West Ham United?
West Ham United’s London rivals, Chelsea, have had one of their class midfielders Ross Barkley linked on a loan move to the Hammers. Question is, would you take him?
The Hammers Gaffer has somewhat played down the reports of Ross Barkley coming to West Ham even though other reports have said otherwise.
When asked about this rumor before the Hammers matchup against Everton Moyes said:
"“One thing I won’t do is not talk about players at other clubs, anything which we think will improve our side I will be interested to bring in.”"
A big reason many have seen this link arise is that Moyes has stated that he wants to strengthen the midfield with a more solid box to box midfielder. Ross Barkley could be just that and with both Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez being nonexistent, why not?

The move would make sense and honestly, help each side. The before mentioned idea that he could help solidify the midfield could help the Hammers and Barkley would benefit by getting more first-team football. Which is something he hasn’t seen much use since getting dropped in the Blue’s pecking order.
The idea that Barkley has lost a touch or two since getting dropped is false. Especially when you look at the other Chelsea midfielders (Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic, and Mount). No, this rumor is more so because David Moyes got to see a lot of Barkley while he was playing in Everton’s youth system.
The main issue that I can see with all of this is that Ross Barkley has the same issue that many of the West Ham midfielders or players for that matter at the moment. The issue, when he’s on, he is on. But when he isn’t, you might as well play with 10 men instead.
It’s January so take all of this with a grain of salt but there is something about the promise of the version of Ross Barkley that is on and ready to go. Whether it’s him or another midfielder, the Hammers need to get someone in there for the remainder of the season to ensure another safe season.
