West Ham: Relive every goal from yesterday’s win against Bournemouth

The return of David Moyes wasn’t only nervy and exciting, it ended up being an absolute attacking masterpiece for West Ham and every goal was made by teamwork and true grit.

West Ham United and the phrase attacking presence is not usually synonymous with each other. However, yesterday those two things matched up perfectly. It seems that David Moyes has lit a spark under the Hammers and in turn, they in him.

This match was West Ham’s biggest win since the early 2000s and with 4 goals to boot, it was probably the best offensive display that some young Hammers fans may have every seen. The best part, it was all made possible by hard work and togetherness.

Let’s start by going all the way back to the 17th minute where a streaking Nobes headed towards the box. The goal itself needed help thanks to the deflection of Lewis Cook but it got West Ham on the board and confidence gained in a big way.

That plays teamwork began when Ryan Fredericks threw it perfectly into Anderson who then calmly played it off to Robert Snodgrass. Snoddy then found Noble and the rest was history. The beautiful 3 pass setup to the skipper was the first of many heads up plays in the match.

Not even 10 minutes later and the attack was back on for the Hammers. Three players that worked together for the first goal did it again in the 26th minute. As Felipe collected the ball he passed it off perfectly to Snoddy who then found the speeding Fredericks on his right.

Ryan Fredericks dropped in a beaut of a cross directly to the volleying feet of Sebastien Haller. The Frenchman looked like Edward Scissorhands as he shot the ball where the Bournemouth keeper was left helpless.

The Hammers proved on that goal that when you push the play on and work hard for the next pass good things can come. It also helps when you have a giant of a man waiting in the box waiting to collect. If you strikers hungry, feed em!

The third goal came once again from the feet of Mark Noble and this time from the penalty spot. His 35th minute goal ended up being his 45th goal in his West Ham career putting him just 2 behind the legendary Paulo Di Canio.

Nobes was the victor of his own hard work, well actually about 4 Hammers where, but when the ball made it out to the skipper and he pressed on he was taken down and given a gift. You see, the theme keeps playing on and it does for the Hammers 4th and final goal as well.

The game slowly moved on over the next 30 minutes until things starting heating up for the Brazilian Felipe Anderson. He had a shot around the 65th minute that was deflected out by the Cherries for a corner. Just 60 seconds later, and we have a candidate for goal of the year.

Anderson was set up by Declan Rice on what was about a 50-yard dart across the midfield. As Anderson scooped up the ball all he had to do was hold off the Cherries defender and slide it past Aaron Ramsdale. This gave Felipe his first goal of the season and the finish to a remarkable day.

All around the Hammers made this day and easy opener for David Moyes and it not only has given fans hope but a slight return of confidence to the squad. Every goal today was due to teamwork and a consent want for more. What a way to open up the New Year, eh?
