There is a lot riding on West Ham as they travel to Southampton this weekend which makes it even tougher to predict due to the vast sureness of it all.

This matchup marks a few firsts or lasts for West Ham and the players and staff surrounding it. It almost seems too early to discuss the breaking point, but this match might just be that.

The Hammers 1-2 Southampton

The final match in Manuel a Pellegrini’s West Ham career. Southampton is a scrappy side that knows and plays like they’re in a relegation battle, with a manager who keeps the players fit and motivated. Who would have thought the Hammers supporters would be jealous of that!

Ings is on fire and Long is a speedster up too. Mix in Nathan Redmond and Djenepo for pace up the wing and a midfield duo of James Ward-Prowse and Hjojberg and you have a formidable crew. The hammers should be able to squeak out a goal, maybe two, but at most I see a goal draw in this one. Still not confident of it, though.

George

The Hammers 2-1 Southampton

I think it will be 2-1 to the good guys as I think we can get a win against a bad Southampton side despite being shocking ourselves. Some Hammers faithful will want us to lose so Pellegrini is sacked but I’m going to the game and would love to see a win that propels is away from the relegation zone. It’s a huge game and will be tough.

The Hammers 3-2 Southampton

During a very pessimistic time to be a Hammers fan, this Irons fan will be positive and predict a thriller this weekend against Southampton. Haller finally gets back on the scoresheet as the Hammers win a game that will be up for grabs down to the final whistle.

The Hammers 2-2 Southampton

To say that this matchup is just another game would be extremely naive. For West Ham and Manuel Pellegrini, this match is the match to end all matches figuratively and realistically. As Southampton has been up and down over the past month I think we will see a good side on the road.

Their stickers are no joke and the Hammers defense might look rough at times against that attack but I do see the Hammers getting 2 on the board and propelling them to at least a point. Look for big games coming from Pablo Fornals and Sebastien Haller in this match.

With all 4 of us at least predicting the Hammers to get a point of higher, there might be a chance for the Irons to get out of St. Mary’s alive. However, those same odds might not relay when it comes to Pellegrini.
