I can’t be bothered to care anymore as Pellegrini confirmed still West Ham manager

All reports suggest West Ham will not sack their manager, Manuel Pellegrini, who has inspired one win in his last 10 matches. Any positive feeling around the club has been bled dry and it’s more of the same disappointment as it stands.

The Manuel Pellegrini is still on and I for one cannot figure out why. In eleven matches, starting at the bewildering 4-0 loss at Oxford, West Ham have won just one match and drawn two more. That is five points from a possible 30 and a next round entrance in the League Cup.

The formation hasn’t been adjusted. The team selection barring injury impact hasn’t been changed. The pre-scout of the opposition is still non-existent, and the cluelessness from the touchline is still here with Pellegrini ‘at the wheel.’

The worst part? His weekly post-loss press conferences where he doesn’t provide analysis or explanations of the match, but rather says things like “it is difficult to understand why we made those mistakes or why you are not solid in every ball.”

Great analysis there, gaffer. Anything else to add, maybe about the very real relegation battle your team is mired in as it stands? Oh, there was this gem, “I am not worried about relegation, I am more worried about the last five games at home where we have had just one draw, conceding three goals in each game.”

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

The fact that he can’t even understand the serious problems with his team that is very much in a relegation battle, or can’t connect the fact that we’ve had just one draw in our last five home matches and the reality that we ARE in a relegation battle is damning.

It’s very clear he is passed it as a manager, and for good reason. He’s succeeded in the Premier League, La Liga, European football, and has collected a massive wage in China. He’s literally checked all boxes along the way in his packed CV. And, to be fair, the board when out on a limb bringing him in on big wages to take the squad to the next level. With the next level nowhere in sight, one more game – win, lose, or draw – won’t affect this team turning around.

It is patronizing and disrespectful to the supporters of this historic football club to look them in the face and say ‘we aren’t going to take the first step to fix this season until we see what happens against a 15 point Southampton team.’ That is truly ridiculous. He’s had money, he’s had backing from the board, he’s had a season and a half, and we haven’t pushed on.

Until there is a recommitting to the top aspirations from the board about this club, why should fans care about the team? There is a hollowness around supporting this team and supporters are yet again fed up with how the club is being run. Stop making it a circus and take the financial hit for your systematic failure.
