For all intents and purposes, this match is huge for West Ham. It’s huge for the players to show their skills, Pellegrini to show he’s still the right man for the job, and for the fans to show up and make Stamford Bridge their fortress. Grades from 0 to 10

Martin

Last Week: N/A

This Week: 7.8 Man of the Match

Analysis: The rust is slowly coming off. Good keeping so far. Very business casual in completely saving this match with his 5 first-half saves. Man is giving his life and for that, he wins Man of the Match.

This Week: 7.2

Analysis: Right place at the right time for that block. The man is giving his life and turning the backline into a brick wall. He linked up well with Fabian Balbuena.

Balbuena

Last Week: N/A

This Week: 7.3

Analysis: Lost his man during a corner but luckily they haven’t capitalized. Continuing to get beat but got in on a corner and almost made it 2. As the game progress so did his game.

Cresswell

Last Week: 6.4

This Week: 7.3

Analysis: Early crosses looked good and connecting well with Felipe Anderson. What a beautiful curling shot into the bottom of the net. Welcome back young Aaron.

Rice

Last Week: 7

This Week: 7.3

Analysis: In typical Declan Rice fashion, he is doing what needs to be done. From the end of the first to the beginning of the second, he is everywhere and pushing. What a strong match for the young international.

Noble

Last Week: 7.5

This Week: 6.6

Analysis: Mark Noble is trying with all his might and succeeding against this tough midfield. You can never question Nobes’s talent or heart for this club.

Snodgrass

Last Week: 7.8

This Week: 7.2

Analysis: He is playing like a man on fire at the moment. Amazing pass into an almost goal. Lovely cross into Michail Antonio but it was ruled off. Such heart and love for this club.

Fornals subbed off on the 81st minute

Last Week: 6

This Week: 6.8

Analysis: He is getting in the mix but nothing exciting yet. His passes were rough in the first but he sets up Cress nicely for the first goal of the match. After his assist, he has been on fire.

Masuaku subbed on for Fornals

Subbed Grade: 6.1

It was great seeing him come back and get in the action. He didn’t screw up and looked good for 10 minutes.

Anderson subbed on at the 70th minute

Last Week: 6.2

This Week: 6.9

Analysis: I haven’t seen a lot from him so far. Not getting up the pitch enough but partnering well with Aaron Cresswell. He did well in this match and that’s good for matches to come.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

Yarmolenko subbed on for Anderson.

Subbed Grade: 6

Yarmo is immediately getting himself into the match. But that was about it.

Antonio subbed off on the 75th minute

Last Week: 7.8

This Week: 7.6

Analysis: Early chance, early miss. Chance number 2, on target but it’s good to see someone getting open in the box. Had a second-half goal that was disallowed by VAR but he is everywhere. His second week back showed just why he was missed.

Haller subbed on for Antonio

Subbed Grade: 6.5

Sebastien Haller has literally been everywhere since coming on. Playing LB, CM, and striker. He is showing his abilities off today.
