So much was at stake for both West Ham and Tottenham during this match but you wouldn’t know it past the 30th minute in the match that was and then wasn’t.

What follows from this West Ham travesty are player grades that show some heart and yet once again, some if not all kinds of disappointment in this unpredictable match. This was tough to watch let alone try to grade.

Roberto

Points – 0.5

It was good to see Roberto show more aggression it all ended soon. From catching when he should’ve punched to punching his own mates, to letting in goals that should’ve been stopped. This was an atrocious display for him.

Fredericks

Points – 6.5

He has literally done all that he could have and he played Son Heung-Min extremely well with the hot form that he has been in. Still getting better but all in all, he played well.

Diop subbed off at 64 minutes

Points – 6

For Issa Diop, it was another solid match. He started out slow to be harsh but saved the day on multiple occasions but also got beat. Up and down match for him today.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

Points – 5.9

Well, this was a surprise. Not only the fact that he, Carlos Sanchez, came on for a defender but that he even came on at all. He was pretty much just out there and didn’t do much good for his time on the pitch.

Ogbonna

Points – 7.1

It was extremely good to see Angelo Ogbonna back on the pitch for the Hammers as he was a rock at times in another dismal match. If Pellegrini did one thing right, it was starting him, especially after his late goal at least got the club back in it on paper.

Cresswell

Points – 6.4

Aaron Cresswell was pretty nonexistent for the first 30 minutes but showed life at times. Nothing against him, but I can’t help but feel that Arthur Masuaku could’ve gotten ahead on that Mora goal.

Rice

Points – 7

It seems that Declan Rice was back to his old form as after all, he can’t do it all on his own. This match would’ve seen Spurs score at least one more goal if it wasn’t for him. Wrong place at the wrong time of the youngster would’ve got his first goal of the early campaign.

Yarmolenko subbed on at 56 minutes

Points – 5.9

The West Ham Ukrainian international looked quiet at times and then would show up with some grit. I know he is a second-half player but didn’t think he deserved to see the second half in this one.

Fornals subbed on for Yarmolenko

Points – 6

It was his opportunity to shine and I don’t think West Ham fans heard his name called once except for a few missed passes. He still needs more time to adjust but he’s slowly running out of it.

Snodgrass (GSH’s Man of the Match)

Points – 7.8

Nobody should ever discredit Robert Snodgrass or his passion for the club. Since getting back to the starting XI a few weeks ago he has been a game-changer but like Rice, he cannot do it alone. Oh, and it was McMessi 1 – Harry Kane 0!

Noble

Points – 7.5

Of course Mark Noble would come out with raw aggression and emotion for this match. However once again, he couldn’t get the lads going once the first goal went in. He still has it and passed and defended really well today and ran for all 90 minutes.

Anderson subbed off at 45 minutes

Points – 6.2

It was good to see Felipe Anderson pressing with confidence and looking somewhat like his old self out there. He had a few good runs that were the life of the first half down that left side.

Antonio subbed on for Anderson

Points – 7.8

It was exciting to see him back and at times he pressed well and he was one of the only ones still trying past the 70th minutes. Oh, it looks like he might’ve been working on his accuracy while coming back from injury.

Haller

Points – 6.5

Sebastien Haller got a good chance in the first 15 minutes but unfortunately for him, the Spurs keeper was right in the way. Missed chances were the story of his game today and it’s unfortunate because this is becoming the main storyline for him.

Next. A look back at what the staff predicted for West Ham v Spurs. Did we get it right?. dark

From the very beginning, this match seemed like it could’ve gone either way but it was quickly squashed by the Spurs overpowering attack. WhoScored.com gave the Hammers a 6.5 rating which I think showed more based on the end score and not the overall match. What happens now for West Ham and honestly does anyone at the club care?
