If West Ham v Spurs wasn’t a big enough matchup to come back from the international break, the news of Mauricio Pochettino’s dismissal at Tottenham brings up the question of perfect timing or perfect storm?

This weekend’s matchup already had a lot of question marks mostly based on what Manuel Pellegrini was going to do with the West Ham squad. However, now the plot thickens with Poch’s firing, the “Chosen Ones” hiring, and moves more towards how Tottenham responds?

This would seem like the perfect timing for the Hammers. I mean picture it, coming off of two winless months, a disheveled keeper, and a manager on the brink, what else could go wrong? This would be a perfect time, especially with the international break to get the team moving in the right direction and quiet the haters.

Not to mention that in this London Derby you can always throw out the records for 90 minutes and just expect…the unexpected. Adding to this theory and the fact that it’s a Derby, Spurs have been somewhat of a disappointment this season in the eyes of fans and leadership alike and with the news of their veteran manager leaving and the unexpected of what Mourinho will bring, anything could go down.

However, there are always two sides to every story and the opposite of this one would be a perfect storm. With everything going wrong for the Hammers. Going with the before-mentioned facts, the squad isn’t looking solid, playing with heart, and is lacking the supreme confidence it takes to dominate.

the poor Hammers squad and all the new and old question marks surrounding the Spurs, what’s to say that they don’t come out with resiliency and look to prove others wrong? Case in point, look at Watford this season, all it takes is a new face to bring new change to a side that is needing it.

West Ham should take advantage of this opportunity but they can also squash it and get taken over by a side that looks to bounce back. Mourinho brings a certain style but honestly, no one knows what kind of shape or style Spurs will come out too and that can be beneficial for them yet hectic for the Hammers.

Going back to the beginning, both sides require a win, both sides are poor at the moment, and both sides have new and old major managerial question marks. But this is a match that West Ham now must take advantage of because to not do so will surely lead to Pellegrini being one step closer to the door.

Next. Here are 3 reasons why West Ham can win this weekend. dark

After all, this matchup seems doubtful to just see it out to a draw, no, this matchup seems to be the one that will see a single side dominate and grow from this perfect opportunity. The question, however, is the timing perfect or is it headed towards disaster?
