It seems the tide has turned for every writer at the Green Street Hammers. No longer are the days of happiness and joy for West Ham but we must move on and predict this weekend’s match.
West Ham is traveling to Burnley which in itself is a tough proposition even before playing a match. Both sides are coming off of some rough patches of boring and sloppy football which means this match can go either way. With that, here is how the GSH staff see the match going.

West Ham 2-2 Burnley
Every once of my being wants to pick against the Hammers this week as my heart is once again broken. However, do I think there might be some type of turn around for West Ham? The answer is yes but how much of a turnaround?
I don’t see this match as an easy one due to traveling to Turf Moor never is. But I do see the Hammers coming back with a punch and hopefully in the form of a 4-4-2 formation. Goalkeeping will still be an issue but the offense will keep the match honest and level throughout.

West Ham 2-1 Burnley
Will this be the game West Ham break up of their recent slump and start to get back to winning ways? I think with all the negativity going on at the moment, we will see a huge response from the players in this match. Sebastien Haller finally gets back on the scoresheet as Pellegrini’s men squeak out a close one at Turf Moor.

What’s happened to West Ham? Well, it seems that we’ve West Ham’d our way to our usual West Hammyness after building up fan expectations in a manner that can only be described as West Hamming it all spectacularly.
It’s something that happens most seasons and the fact that fans are still surprised is always cute, I mean, our song literally talks about fortune always hiding and our dreams dying in front of our eyes. We’re not a fan base that was meant to be happy. In the last few games, there have been some weird starting XI choices and the fact that Robert Snodgrass has been by far our best player is a poor sign.
He works hard but given we’ve spent over 100m on attacking talent in the past few seasons there should be others putting in quality he’s not capable of. I hope we see a few more signs of attacking intent, but Burnley is a decent side and with recent performances, I can’t expect us to get anything at Turf Moor.

West Ham 0-2 Burnley
This is my first predicted loss since we hosted Man City on the opening day of the season. Sadly, I can only see one team bouncing back from their respective drubbings last week, and that is the home side. We look mentally lost and Pellegrini doesn’t seem to know what his best team is.
If he persists with Pablo Zabaleta, we will continue to drop points and slide down the league. Either way, Sean Dyche’s men have a certain amount of steel about them which we have been lacking for a while now. Another ruined weekend in the full depths of Burnley.

West Ham 1-1 Burnley
Time for another West Ham match week; time for another match prediction. This week it’s a trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley. Burnley isn’t playing well at the moment, but as we know, neither are the Irons. And West Ham has lost the last three against this side.
All week the interwebs have been burning up about Manuel Pellegrini’s hot seat; the selections he got wrong last week and the changes he needs to make for this match. I agree! So as the Gaffer switches things up and plays a three at the back that has both Ogbonna and Balbuena on the pitch together, inserts Arthur Masuaku on the left-wing as part of a midfield five that also includes Manuel Lanzini back in the starting XI and for once employs a striker tandem of Haller and Yarmolenko from the start then I think this is all going to go West Ham’s way. Hammers 3-0.
Oh wait—are you saying that Pellegrini is still going with the 4-1-4-1 / 4-2-3-1? And there will only be cosmetic changes to the side that is on the slide? Haller will continue as an isolated lone striker. Yeah, that’s what I am anticipating when I get back in touch with reality. I think the Irons are lucky to get a draw in this spot leaving the next international break to continue to try to sort this mess. Until Pellegrini does that it’s more of the same I am afraid.

West Ham 1-1 Burnley
I think it will be 1-1. Burnley away is always a really tough game for any team and they are always very physical. West Ham will be lucky to come out of this game with a point and Chris Wood will probably score for Burnley from a pass in the form of a cross. West Ham has to get at least a point out of this game if they want to get into Europe.
Adam
West Ham 2-2 Burnley
Will this be the match that West Ham remembers how talented and skilled they are? Maybe, maybe not, but I do think the starting XI is going to be different in personnel and information so it could be unpredictable. With Roberto in-goal and set pieces still being an issue, there is a slim chance of a clean sheet, so Burnley will get goals.
The question becomes: can the Hammers match their offensive output? I expect two strikers to be used for West Ham and that screams goals to me. Just two predicted and I can see Haller/Ajeti getting one and Lanzini mixing in for another. With the international break looming beyond this match, the Hammers need a statement game before a week-long layoff.
