After both West Ham and Newcastle United drew in the respective matches last week, they will both face off tomorrow afternoon with big game implications all around.

This match should be as equally important for West Ham as it is for Newcastle due to how the table is so tightly matched at the moment. The entire staff got together this week to give our 2 cents on how we think this match will turn out.

West Ham 4-1 Newcastle

Haven’t gotten one prediction correct yet, so why change? Close wins, tough draws – both are boring. Somethings got to give for this “good on paper” Hammers attack, so why not smash Newcastle at the London Stadium.

For the home side, it’ll be Andriy Yarmolenko in the middle of the attack (figuratively), either instigating attacking opportunities or slamming them home. Look for two+ goal contributions from the hulking Ukrainian.

George

West Ham 2-0 Newcastle

The hammers will recover from their bad spell of form with an important victory against the magpies. Sean Longstaff is suspended so Rice and Noble stand a good chance of winning the midfield battle. It is an important game for Sebastien Haller as Schär and Lascelles are often very physical, he’ll certainly be looking to get on the scoresheet and I believe he will.

I believe that Pellegrini will opt to play Robert Snodgrass again after his good performance last time out, he could prove to be the much-needed link between the attack and midfield. It is also an important game for Felipe Anderson, he will be looking to get the better of Newcastle’s RB, Yedlin. Issa Diop will be looking to keep Joelinton quite while Fredericks vs Saint Maximin could be a crucial battle.

West Ham 3-0 Newcastle

I predict that West Ham will bounce back in a big way this week after a couple of tough matches. Robert Snodgrass will unlock everything going forward for the Hammers and Haller will get back on the scoresheet for the Irons who take all 3 points on Saturday.

West Ham 2-0 Newcastle

Why do I feel like West Ham has been bringing the worst out of me lately? Week after week I pick them to win and they have failed over the last 4 EPL matches. With that being said, how can I go wrong but pick that same result again?

After a lot of talk in the media and from Pellegrini, I believe they will come out guns blazing this weekend and put the Magpies in their place. It won’t be pretty at times, because it never is, but the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko and Manuel Lanzini will shine on this day.

Louis

West Ham 3-0 Newcastle

This prediction could come back to bite me in the face, but I’m going all out here. After last Saturday’s disappointing draw against Sheffield United, I feel as though the manager and players will come out all guns blazing, as they have a lot to prove.

More than anything though, the Magpies have a poor side managed by a poor manager. We need to attack them from the very first minute. The longer we go without scoring, the more hope that they will conjure. The home crowd would also start getting on the Hammers’ player’s backs. So, providing we get that early goal, I think we’ll go on to comfortably win this game. Come on you irons.

West Ham 2-0 Newcastle

I think we can all agree on a couple of things right now. Firstly, watching West Ham in recent weeks has been a drag. We’ve looked sloppy on the ball and turgid in the final third, topping it all off with a bit of disorganization in the defense. Secondly, we’re grateful the club isn’t in the same position as Newcastle.

Apart from the victory against Manchester United a couple of weeks ago, they’ve been dire and that reflects the issues behind the scenes. In fact, their form is almost making me feel sorry for Steve Bruce. Here is a man with an awful win percentage (second-worst of any PL manager over 200 games) being asked for success at a club that demands more than it deserves. What on earth did the Newcastle ownership expect?

Well, either way, if we don’t win this match then we’re going to have a lot to think about because I don’t really see how they are better than us. Confidence in the Hammers, 2-0 win with Haller and Yarmolenko getting the goals.

West Ham 2-1 Newcastle

I think the club is in a bit of a mess at the moment. Since the League Cup loss in late September, things have been scuffling along after the high-flying start saw West Ham inside the Top 4 in the table.

Since then goals have been few and far between, confidence and passion have been lacking and despite playing opponents “below” their level (apparently) points have been slipping away. The Irons haven’t won in the last four matches.

If the Irons are going to right the ship and start moving back up the table to where they think they belong, it starts with a win right here. No excuses, no moral victories and no draws.

It’s another match on paper, that the Hammers should take care of pretty easily, earn the three points and move on. It’s at home, Manuel Pellegrini has never lost a match to the Magpies, they sit in 17th place and have a -9 goal differential. But hey, Newcastle beat Man United too.

Positivity is still flowing here at the GSH, but for how long? The EPL is run off of results and week in and week out you really don’t know what you are going to get. West Ham should easily take this match but if they don’t, question marks may really start flying around.
