Sebastien Haller is already cementing his name in the eyes of the media and West Ham hearts everywhere. After another impressive performance, he has made the WhoScored.com team of the week.

This news is well deserving, however, as for most people around West Ham, it’s simply just another day but to others, it might raise an eyebrow. The Hammers French-born striker has been growing and shining each week and it’s good to see that the rest of the world catch on to what is well deserved.

To the others that might be questioning why it’s because many thought he was brought to West Ham to score goals just like all the strikers before him and that he has been goalless in the last three matches.

But Seb Haller is much more than just a goal machine and that’s what is really getting him the praise. Quite possibly his best attribute is his hold up play. Something that the Hammers haven’t seen in a while, especially from a striker.

His ability to get the ball and take on defenders or keep the ball safe until the midfield attackers arrive has been instrumental to their season and it was evident again last week.

Going back to that Bournemouth away match his hold up play is what kept the Hammers in the match and his passing ability in tight areas helped the Hammers go up early with his beautiful setup pass to Yarmolenko. His unsung ability isn’t new either,

WhoScored.com gave Haller a 7.7 for his performance against the Cherries on Saturday giving him credit for the assist but also the beautiful hold up/team play further cementing him in the eyes of the world.

Getting someone like Haller has been a godsend for West Ham as they have been searching for years to find someone like him. Going forward, one can only hope that this run of form keeps going and his unselfish play as well as adding to his goal tally will continue.

Sebastien Haller is a key piece to this puzzle and has shined so far this season putting him in contention for early Hammer of the Year talks. Until we see him again against Palace, COME ON YOU IRONS!
