Both West Ham United and Bournemouth had something to prove this week after both being knocked out of the Carabao Cup. This storyline mixed with the tough matchup at Bournemouth made this matchup very intriguing.
This back and forth of the match followed but great plays and then sloppy plays kept everyone West Ham and Bournemouth related on edge. This match had everything from great save, sloppy passes, great shots, and even VAR. With that, how did the players fare this weekend?
Player Grades 0 to 10
Fabianski
Grade: 6
Subbed 33′
We didn’t get to see Fabianski much besides the goal he left in (which the defense left stranded). An unfortunate hamstring injury brought him out just before the 34th minute. Best of luck lad!
Roberto
Grade: 5.7
A tale of two halves for him. Fist thoughts, can he kick? Can he dive? After letting in a sloppy goal where you didn’t see him really move, he came back to at least help West Ham get the draw. He did what was needed but it wasn’t pretty.
Fredericks
Grade: 7.1
As always, Ryan was great going forward and move the ball well. He got called out and completely missed King on his wide-open goal. After that play, however, he turned it around and finished out the match with solid defense.
Diop
Grade: 6.5
I think the Carabao Cup hangover was still looming around Diop from time to time as he looked sloppy at times for sure. He did have some solid play up the field with 3 aerials won.
Oggy
Grade: 6.8
Since the Brighton match way back in August, Ogbonna has been the best CB for West Ham. He ran his butt off all match and helped defensively when Roberto was not looking right. He passed over 80% and have 5 solid plays in the air.
Cress
Grade: 7.9
Cresswell continues to amaze me and change my mind each week. Coming off a breakout match last week against United, he did the same again today. His defensive play was solid and his attacking presence came into play again. 2 in 2 for the English LB and here’s to hoping for much more.
Rice
Grade: 7.7
What can’t you say about Declan Rice? He plays the solid defensive midfielder to perfection. For being so young you wouldn’t know it watching him play. With a 90% plus passing accuracy, he controlled both sides of the pitch today.
Yarmolenko
Grade: 8.3
(THE GREEN STREET HAMMERS MAN OF THE MATCH)
Is it fair to say that Yarmolenko, life Stella, has found his groove since coming back from injury? The man arguably has the best left foot in the EPL and his ability to pass short and long was so key today. Creating 2 key passes and getting the initial ball in for the Cresswell goal was just some of what he did today.
Noble
Grade: 7.6
Subbed 74′
He has had one bad match this season, two weeks ago, against Villa. Since then, he has kicked it back into the typical Mark Noble that we have seen from years past. With an 86% passing accuracy and getting the ball up the pitch again, he needs to start getting more recognition from the rest of the league and not just us fans.
Wilshere
Grade: 5.7
Jack came on for a tired Noble late in the second half and I would like to say that he kept the same play as Nobes going, but he didn’t. I understand it is tough to come on when you are cold but he got overplayed and beat on multiple occasions. An abysmal 40% passing accuracy didn’t help either.
Fornals
Grade: 6.5
Subbed 66′
Understanding that this is only his second start in the EPL is one thing. But looking at the hype and how he has played elsewhere is another. You could tell that he was hesitant from the start and didn’t look comfortable. He did, however, get better as the match went one before being subbed out.
Lanzini
Grade: 6.9

Coming back from an injury that many thought would keep him out for a few more weeks was awesome to see. You could immediately see a difference between him and Fornals which was just what was needed. For every key pass he had (2), he had a bad pass but glad to get him back.
Anderson
Grade: 7.9
From the beginning to the end of this match Felipe Anderson was all over the pitch. His aggression on defense led to getting the ball back and his aggression in passing led to 2 key passes both resulting in goals. If we could have 2 MOTM’s, he would’ve won the other.
Haller
Grade: 8
Originally thought that he was brought into East London to score goals, however, he can do much more. Seb Haller should us all that he can play the hold-up game against any defense and he contributed once again on both sides of the pitch winning 9 aerials and having 4 key passes.
Going into this match the West Ham world, including the rest of the GSH staff, was on edge about how the Hammers would bounce back. It’s safe to say that they made it through and have regained some amount of form. Now it’s on to next week and Palace at home!
