West Ham are short on striker options wth the injury to Michail Antonio and the sale of Chicharito. With the depth sheet thin, will it be Shinji Okazaki or Wilfried Bony for the Hammers?

The Situation

The sale of Chicharito followed the injury to Michail Antonio against Newport County. Antonio isn’t a traditional center forward, but his physicality, skill in the air, and speed made him a perfect third-choice striker if the team needed him, especially with the winger depth on the roster.

Should West Ham have held off on selling Chicharito until at least January and/or does the injury taint the sale of Hernandez? No, I don’t think so. Chicharito was heavily underrated by Hammers supporters and scored some massive goals for us in his rocky tenure with the team. It was clear, however, that he wanted to go to Spain and coast into retirement, tainting his desire with seemingly wantaway demands.

Regardless, Antonio is injured and Chicharito is gone… so now what? The ever-reliable ITK ExWHUemployee has stated that the club will look at free agents now that the sale has gone through. With the list is rather unimpressive, recent news added a familiar name to the free-agent ranks changing a one-horse-race to a double threat.

So, who will it be for West Ham? Shinji Okazaki, formerly of Leicester City, or Wilfried Bony recently playing for Swansea?
