The first month of football is almost sadly over. So for now, we take a break from the West Ham EPL and Carabao Cup action to check in on some Hammers that are currently loaned out.

West Ham has a solid grouping of budding youth starts. Whether it is from the Academy or loaned out players trying to either prove a point or soon to find their way into another club. Regardless of why these players were loaned out, we take a look at how they have fared so far on tenure with other clubs.

Martin Samuelsen

The once-prized signee turned struggling fringe player is a headline most recently used for the young 22-year-old. Samuelsen is currently on loan at FK Haugesund in Norway and being used as a center forward. He and his loaned club are both struggling 19 matches into the season as they sit just 5 points above relegation. For his sake, let’s hope he can turn it around.

Nathan Trott

The future West Ham keeper has made some very pretty saves so far this season but has yet picked up a win while on loan at AFC Wimbledon. Trott, a topic of hot contentions here at the GSH has only picked up a draw so far while also grabbing two loses and gave up a hat trick to Sunderland last weekend.

Grady Diangana

The one loaned out player on this list that had some significant time with the West Ham first team, Diangana is getting on fairly well at West Brom so far this season. So far in 4 total matches, he has picked up 2 goals and has impressed former Hammers Gaffer, Slaven Bilic.

Josh Cullen

In a season of key importance for the young Irishman, Cullen has looked well in his loan return to The Valley. After helping Charlton get to the EFL Championship, he has played in every match and has his club in the promotion zone in their first season back to the Championship. The jury is still out on whether or not he will ever make it to Pellegrini’s first team.

Sead Haksabanovic

Comment below if you forgot he was even still a member of the Claret and Blue. What’s even crazier, Sead is still just 20 years old and doing well on loan at the Swedish side, IFK Norrköping. A bit of good news is that he has played 19 matches this season, far more than previous loan trips away.

Jordan Hugill

We saved the best, or most controversial, for last. On his second spell of being loaned out in as many years with West Ham, Hugill is doing exactly what is expected of him at QPR. Just 4 matches in and the 27-year-old has put away 2 goals already for the R’s.

Next. The Sebastien Haller difference. dark

For the most part, every Hammer that is out on loan is growing in their game and doing well. It will be interesting as we continue to monitor them to see how the rest of the season goes for West Ham’s loaned out players.
