Ben Johnson plays more at right-back than Zabaleta: This isn’t going to be contradictory to Powell being my YHOTY, but I see the club investing in a Johnson type player to relieve Ryan Fredericks over Zabaleta based on dynamic playmaking and speed. I think Zab still has a place in the team but more of a mentor than a player now.

Jack Wilshere: I’m going to put it out here and say that Wilshere will be a commanding presence for us. We’ve struggled for leadership when Noble has been off the pitch but Jack is a West Ham fan and I think this season he could really push past his injury woes and be in with a real shot of taking POTY. We know he’s got the quality so that’s not a surprise, but a full season would be.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

The Kings of London: I’m going way out in right field on this but stick with me. Back during the 2015/16 season West Ham dominated the other London-based clubs and I think they will again this year. With Arsenal and Chelsea having some question marks, it’ll be perfect time to turn London Claret n Blue again.

Andriy Yarmolenko: After injuries ruined a promising first season for the Ukrainian, Yarmo will bounce back in a big way and be a contributor to the Irons offensive attack this season. If Yarmo can stay fit this season which I believe he will, expect him to add some flair and finesse to the Hammers.

Denver Scott

The new look offense: I think that will be the power of the offense. We bought a lot of firepower, but I think it will work very well. We are gonna leak goals but we will score boatloads.

Jack Wilshere: Perhaps not in the context intended, I think Jack Wilshere will be West Ham’s surprise of the season. If he stays fit throughout the majority of it, that will be the surprise in itself, and in turn will improve our chances greatly of having a successful campaign. Wilshere has proved himself throughout pre-season while arguably being our most impressive player, and will look to put last season’s injury-ridden woes behind him.
