West Ham United have been linked to quite a lot of forwards so far this offseason, nothing new for anyone that knows the transfer market and West Ham. However, there might be a new target that is not as well-known.

Many have been well-known names i.e Gomez, Mitrovic, Rondon, and Savarino. Wait, Savarino? Yes, Jefferson Savarino, a Venezuelan winger that plays in the MLS. One nice thing about this transfer window is that West Ham United have been able to keep pretty quiet about who they are looking at and this is no different.

The news was first broke by top West Ham ITK, ExWHUemployee, Monday afternoon. When he tweeted this gem out.

Not long after SkySports also dropped the same rumor about West Ham looking at the young Real Salt Lake winger. Currently available for £6m, the 22-year-old has also scored 3 times so far in this MLS season. With his contract set to expire in December, now would be a good time for the Hammers to strike.

The rumor also mentioned that Newcastle United was interested and would be looking at him. Newcastle is a club that has spent big on South American players playing in America so it’s defiantly worth a mention.

Savarino predominantly works on the right-wing but can play on the left and center attacking mid. He has already played 10 caps for his county while scoring once and will be playing again on Tuesday in the Copa America Cup against a tough Brazil squad.

It does seem odd that West Ham would be looking at another attacking midfield, a midfield already stacked, but if he would be looked at to play on the left side and grow behind Anderson and complete with Holland, it makes sense.

With Husillos running the operations for West Ham, I trust him and his staff completely. He has brought in some amazing talent already in just one season at the Director of Football. Players like the before mentioned Anderson, Fabianski, Diop, and Balbuena.

Next. Manuel Pellegrini has a West Ham midfield dilemma. dark

There isn’t much more known about this rumor or the player, except that in my eyes he would fit the style of play and has the pace to get up and down. With time to grow and get some legit play time in the cup matches, Jefferson Savarino could be just another jewel that West Ham needs.
