West Ham’s new attacking midfielder certainly brings a bit of skill and class to the center of the Hammers’ pitch. Here are a few of his best goals and skills.

September 2018:

Fornals beats his man to the ball after a long pass gives him room to run in the center of the pitch. With some stellar awareness, Fornals picks out the keeper off his line and booms a long bomb right over his head for the opening and winning goal of the match. The opponent, Athletic Club Bilbao, come to the London Stadium this summer for a preseason match… (insert eye emojis here).

January 2018:

In the clip seen by clicking HERE, Fornals kills off a previously 0-0 match against Real Madrid with an unbelievable piece of skill. The midfielder follows the counterattack breaking down the wing and gets into open space at the top of the box. When the initial shot is saved the ball drops to him and he chips it over diving defenders and a helpless keeper from 18 yards out.

Again, this is another outrageous example of skill and precision from the midfielder. He has a desire to be dramatic and seems to get it done on the biggest stages.

May 2017:

Another long shot from Fornals! This time just outside the box, the Spaniard nails a perfect hit past the diving keeper and into the top right corner of the net. You can see his ability to read a play and lose his defender in this clip. As the play breaks up, Fornals drifts out of his coverage and finds open space. Now a viable option for a pass, he makes no mistake on the thunderbolt!

Long range shots are certainly an aspect of West Ham’s attack that has been missing. Hopefully, Fornals can bring that in spades.

May 2019:

And lastly, a rabona goal to scratch that wrapped-heel itch you’ve been trying to scratch since Dimitri Payet left. This nasty bit of skill was nothing more than some showboating as Fornals was alone in front of the net when the ball found his feet. The skiller then popped a perfect rabona into the back of the net.

His shot sent the defender past him, as he thought the ball was going to roll to his right foot and froze the keeper who could only look on as the ball sailed past him. This is the outrageous stuff that gets fans excited but also adds another dimension to the team’s attack. Fornals could be a home run this season, but for now, let’s just enjoy his skills from seasons prior!
