West Ham take on Watford in their final game of the season. What do our writers think will greet the fans as they head into the summer?

Adam: 2-0 to the Hammers

Im ending the season on a high for the Hammers with a resounding 2-0 win to keep the cleansheet streak going! West Ham’s defense has been uncharacteristically strong in their past two matches, most likely due to the reuniting of Diop and Balbuena. I think their partnership continues to excel in this one, with the duo stymieing of the fast and powerful Watford attack.

As for goalscorers, I think theres a penalty in this game and that means Mark Noble gets on the scoresheet. Other than that, I think Arnautovic continues his form and nets the other goal. What an end to the year this would be – nine points, 3 cleansheets.

West Ham have not fared well against Watford over the last three Premier League seasons, especially at Vicarage Road where the Hammers have not won a match.

Jeff: 2-0 to Hammers

But the Hammers are in good form and Watford not so much. Maybe that equalizes things a bit for West Ham as they look to finish the campaign with their third win in a row. Since the re-pairing of Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena on the back end, the Irons have yet to concede a goal. Meanwhile, the Hornets have conceded in 11 straight Premier League games.

As an added incentive for West Ham, if other results fall right, three points would get the club to a 9th place finish in the table. A loss could see the Irons fall a spot to 12th. Finishing the season strong should be important to the squad and to Manuel Pellegrini in his first year in charge.

That’s what I see here; West Ham hold form, play well again and figure out how to win on the road and specifically at Vicarage Road. I see this going 2-0 to the Hammers, giving them a nice win heading into an important summer.

dark. Next. Anything at stake for the final game?

Scott: 1-1

It’s the end of the season and West Ham and Watford are both going to have their minds elsewhere. The Hammers will have their minds on the beach, and Watford will be thinking about the FA Cup final next week. So therefore I think this will fizzle into a very average draw.

The guys above seem to be thinking a bit more positively than me and I could see the Hammers potentially being a bit more up for it than their hosts, so I hope they want to give the travelling fans something to cheer.
