No Bark, No Bite; Green St. Hammers Staff Predict Irons Win!
By Adam Smith
Hopefully, the embarrassing loss for West Ham at Cardiff City will act as a late-season wake-up call for the Irons who host Huddersfield Town. The Green Street Hammers staff predicts the outcome, and ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got a unanimous decision!
Jeff Catlin: West Ham United Win 2-0
Much like last week’s match, confidence in West Ham United earning all three points against bottom of the table Huddersfield Town is high. But because of last week’s poor effort and result against a club of similar stature, the enthusiasm is duly tempered for this one.
On the positive side, the Hammers do return home to play at London Stadium. Huddersfield have not played well on any of their trips into the Capital as the Irons look to win three in a row at the “new” ground for the first time. Manuel Pellegrini has been quick to adjust after poor efforts, so I expect there to be at least a couple of changes in the starting XI for this one.
First, Marko Arnautovic should get the start up front. Fabian Balbuena should also get his spot back alongside Issa Diop. This is a good spot in particular for the General’s return due to the Terriers inept offense. Midfield again provides options for Gaffer when choosing between Lanzini, Snodgrass, Nasri, and Antonio. The latter’s power and strength along the wing has noticeably been missing from WHU’s attack.
So look for some lineup changes for the Hammers, a clean sheet would be nice, and Arnie getting back on the scoring sheet just might be the spark the team needs to reignite the fire under this club for the final eight matches. 2-0 Hammers. COYI
Jeremiah: West Ham United Win 2-1
If anyone has been a loyal follower or just a novice one over the past few years then last week should’ve come to no surprise to you. This weekends matchup could come to similar results if the Hammers aren’t careful.
Last time out we were saved by Felipe Anderson in the 74’ minute to draw us level, I for one hope for a better outcome this week but my confidence level isn’t at an all-time high at the moment. I see a slow start again with a poorly allowed goal early. However, I do see the Hammers bouncing back to not only draw but win! Look for strong performances from Lanzini and Anderson in a bounce-back performance! As always and until next time COME ON YOU IRONS!

Why not, right? West Ham got punched in the mouth pretty hard by a lesser-than, albeit scrappy team in Cardiff City which should have been an eye-opener for the team. Success against Huddersfield Town won’t be simple, though, as the Hammers have to mentally refocus and get sharper for a relegation-bound Terriers team.
How they can do this is by tweaking the lineup to get the best players in the team. So what if Marko Arnautovic isn’t going to be here after the summer? Get him in the team, get him engaged, and get him scoring to bump that transfer value up.
The same goes for the attacking midfield. Why have two holding midfielders when you can thump Huddersfield with Lanzini and Nasri up the middle, feeding the ball to Arnautovic, Antonio, and Anderson all match long? If Huddersfield want to go all out on offense West Ham can out-fire that team by front-loading the attacking options on the pitch.
I went heavy West Ham because I genuinely think it’ll be a blowout. Two for Marko and one for Anderson!
