GSH Predicts West Ham v Liverpool
It’s been a long season since West Ham travelled to Anfield to open the campaign. Liverpool now top the division and the Hammers are struggling, can they recover their form in front of home support?
Adam, Liverpool 3-1 West Ham
Not my usual over the top West Ham prediction but I think this scoreline will actually flatter the Irons right now. West Ham is injured, mentally distracted, and run down after a busy few months of action so the Reds do have every reason to stop them into the ground but I don’t think it’ll be that bad, actually.
For Liverpool I’m giving their goals to Salah, Mane, and a Premier League first to Kieta (of course against West Ham). The first half will end 1-0, they’ll quickly add another in the second half, then I can see a late substitution for Andy Carroll nodding in a set piece goal before Liverpool add another. No quit from West Ham in this one but also no race for the title implications either.

Scott: 2-0 to Liverpool
West Ham have left me a bit despondent at the moment, with a poor end to the window and a weird collection of strikers left at our disposal I don’t feel nearly as confident about the Hammers as I did at the start of January. But there’s still promise in the side but this Liverpool side have a mission in winning the league now and they’re going to be hard to beat with that prize in front of them.
Salah and Mane are exceptionally quick and mobile, and with Firminio in the middle I don’t think we can really expect to keep them out for very long. I hope Arnautovic begins to find his feet again because then we might have a chance of an upset. Without him I worry about our ability to challenge the big boys of the leageu.
Jeff: Liverpool to win 2-1
The heady run of form in December for West Ham United has faded and died, when the club bagged more points in the month than every club but Liverpool. With the turn of the calendar into 2019 all that’s remained is off-pitch drama, on-pitch injuries and woeful performances in the league and FA Cup.
And with that same Liverpool club next on the fixture list things don’t appear to be looking up in this one for the Irons. The transfer window has closed with no reinforcements coming in.
The Manager has to reignite the fire under his club and soon–regardless of the result in this one, the Hammers need to have a professional and credible performance. Lets hope we as supporters get just that.
