No more contract talk, no more Maxi Gomez talk, no more China talk. It’s over. Marko Arnautovic is staying at West Ham, like it or now. Now the focus shifts; West Ham have yet another chance to declare themselves 7th in the Premier League and it will heavily rely on Arnautovic showing up. Just do your job, Marko.

This isn’t an open letter to Husillios, Sullivan, Gold, Brady, Pellegrini, or anyone else in the organization that contributed to the confusion and ultimately bad PR over the Arnautovic contact situation. No, this is just a fan of the team asking the multi-millionaire player to show up and do his job now. Is that too much to ask for?

With his weekly baseline earnings around £100k/week, and with a new and improved, incentivized contract (with a sneaky £45m buyout clause) Arnautovic is in the vicinity of making £150k+ in this match against Wolves should he find the scoresheet.

I don’t know the specifics of the background, shady deals Arnautovic’s brother/agent/rat Danijel worked out with the CSL teams he talked to, but this potential £150k/w earning is probably a far cry from what he could be earning in the Orient should he deal have been approved, depending on how the Yen is trading, of course.

It’s clear the loyalty to his club doesn’t mean much to him, so Marko, be yourself on the pitch and earn that money. You did it to Stoke City and their fans, you tried to do it to West Ham, and now you’ve made so much of a mess of it all that the club isn’t really even trying to keep you anymore (after this season).

The love is gone, and so too the facade of loyalty. Train hard, score goals, win games, and keep your arms uncrossed and lips off the badge. We’re not asking for a cult hero or for “our bastard” to represent the club, we’re just looking to succeed in the Premier League.

You’ve got your goal ($$$) and we’ve got ours, now let’s put aside any feelings at all to this situation and boil it down to what it truly has become. You’re a player with a contract who wants more money. Go play and earn it with your fantasy Chinese team and fund West Ham’s next step to sustaining Premier League success. Always be reminded, though, that it didn’t have to be this way. You just decided it should be.

Onto Wolves for West Ham and their starting striker. Let’s score a few goals, shall we?
