Moussa Marega

West Ham have been linked with a number of strikers in Portugal over the recent transfer windows, and this window isn’t going to be any different. Whether it’s Bas Dost or Marega, there were always going to be links. However in this case I think it’s Marega that’s going to be the most likely.

light. Must Read. Hammers nearing top of B/R rankings

Marega is a strong and powerful striker and a few years younger than Arnautovic. Coming from the Portuguese league he’s likely to cost less than if he was at one of the larger clubs in Europe, simply due to the financial clout. As such it’s not a crazy move when compared to some of the other names we’ve been linked to.

However I don’t see Marega leaving to a club that doesn’t have European football. Yes we’re improving but a striker at 27 isn’t necessarily interested in a long project. He wants to make sure he’s playing at the best club he can in his best years, and that means he’s likely to ask for more money that we’re willing to pay in order to move to us. I don’t think this is going to happen.
