Player: Yarmolenko

Position: Right Wing

Previous Role

After being eased into the first team due to a lack of match practice it looked as though Yarmolenko was becoming an established member of the first team. He has a wicked left foot and was giving many a right back issues during the game. Many thought he was having more impact than Anderson at the time, and losing him when we did looked like it would stunt our momentum.

Expected Return Date: April 27

Role on Return

With Snodgrass currently on fire and Diangana snapping at his heels for the RW role I don’t think we’re going to see Yarmolenko get much Premier League gametime this season. His injury was a nasty one and with previous issues it’s likely that Pellegrini will take the most cautious route on his rehab. Especially when our current options are doing so well.

Snodgrass is currently in outstanding form and Diangana looks as though he will compete for the RW position for years and year to come. Both offer a little more two footedness than the Ukrainian, although Yarmo’s left foot has fired more goals than either of the others’. For me I think Yarmo is likely to be moved to a rotation role when fully fit, although who knows if Snodgrass and Diangana can keep their current form up.
