Player: Jack Wilshere

Position: Central Midfield

Previous Role

Wilshere never really cemented a role in East London, after joining on a free transfer in the summer. He was playing in the midfield as Pellegrini looked to cement a midfield selection, however it was never particularly settled. I think it was clear however that Pellegrini wanted Jack to be a main player in the midfield before his injury.

Must Read. Declan Rice should be Hammers target No.1. light

Expected Return Date: 15 December

Role on Return

This one, for me is simple. Wilshere is an injury prone player that we have to be careful with. He isn’t leagues above the rest of our squad, or that much better that he warrants playing at less than full fitness. Easing him back into the side, with the intention of making him a starting player is the best idea. If he doesn’t begin to play regularly for another month because we’re being careful I really don’t think it’s an issue. We don’t need instant success at the cost of players’ health.
