West Ham fans have just celebrated back to back league wins for the first time in almost 2 years. But we shouldn’t settle. We should push for 5 wins in a row to lead us into Christmas.

Have I gone crazy? Maybe. Drunk off two wins in a row I’m now looking at our next three fixtures and I see no reason why we can’t will all of them. An out of sorts Palace and the London Stadium, a leaky Fulham across London and then a Watford side whose inconsistency makes West Ham seem solid at home. Why can’t we get 9 points from 9?

Obviously, the Arnie injury is not going to help things. He is a big player for us and I know defenders do not like facing him in any capacity, even if he’s not scoring. But we have the firepower to deal with his absence. And there are plenty of reasons we should be aiming for wins, not just hoping for the best.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

Palace (H) 8 December

Crystal Palace have managed only 3 league wins so far this season, against sides ranked 17th or below in the table. Southampton, under the failed and misguided leadership of Mark Hughes, picked up a 2-0 win at Selhurst Park earlier this season and it looked simple. Whilst Palace have some decent players they are not gelling at the moment, and we must keep the pressure on.

Zaha will always be tricky, and Townsend has the ability to produce but quite simply we are a better side both man to man and as a unit. This game is ours for the taking if we control possession and get the ball into dangerous areas at the feet of our attacking players. In Pellegrini’s head this should be another match where a 3 goal margin is possible.

Fulham (A) 15 December

Fulham will concede goals. In fact they’re conceding goals at a faster rate than almost anyone else in Premier League history. And you want me to think we’re not favourites? No thanks! We have goals coming from a multitude of sources and a midfield full of confidence. Could we look at scoring 3 or more goals for 4 league games in a row here? Maybe!

Mitrovic is a decent striker but I have faith in Diop, Balbuena and Fabianski to keep the damage to a minimum. Having two centrebacks and a keeper you can trust is such a refreshing feeling, and at this point winning 4 in a row will feel good too.

Watford (H) 22 December

Can we make it 5? At this point Watford may have won a game 5-0 then lost the next 4-0 and had two men sent off. Trying to predict which side will turn up from the Hornets is almost impossible at the moment, and because of that they represent the hardest opposition pre-Christmas. They have players who could hurt us in their attack, and on their day their defence is solid too.

Next. 5 lessons from Cardiff win. dark

However at this point with 4 wins in a row we will be on fire. Felipe Anderson will be nutmegging players from dead ball situations and every cross from Snodgrass’ left peg will either be touched in by Chicharito or nestle in the bottom corner on its own. Yes I’m getting a little crazy but if we have reached this point with 4 wins in a row who won’t be? Can the Hammers really celebrate Christmas with 5 wins in a row?
