West Ham are taking on one of the best teams in world football right now. Can they get a result in front of their home crowd?

Adam: 3-2 to City

West Ham are not going quietly into the night in this match despite the lopsided team. Manchester City are an extremely talented and deep team which helps cover over some injury/scheduling/tired player issues that the first place club may be having. De Bruyne is injured? Throw Gundogan in! Silva is out? Maybe Mahrez can step in! Don’t want to overplay Sergio Aguero? Gabriel Jesus is ready to go! City are spoiled for choice in the midfield and forward department, which is par for the course when it comes to strong team.

Where West Ham can hopefully attack Manchester City is through their left-back position. Benjamin Mendy is out indefinitely after undergoing knee surgery recently, putting an end to his impressive play. That means Pep Guardiola will have to choose between veteran midfielder turned fullback Fabian Delph or unproven youngster Zinchenko. Either way, it will be up to West Ham’s Grady Diangana to make an impact while still being largely overlooked for Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic.

I have Arnie bagging an early goal and, yes you guess it, Andy Carroll scoring a header late on to make the match close. Should be interesting for the Hammers indeed!

Jeff: 3-0 to City

The last time West Ham United beat Manchester City was September of 2015; that heady final season at the Boleyn Ground when Dimitri Payet and Slaven Bilic led the club to its best points total in the Premier League. Since then, the Hammers have been beaten and outscored by Man City by a collective 20-5.

The Hammers look to have a fully fit Andy Carroll on the bench for the first time this season alongside a fit Jack Wilshire for the first time since early September. But it is unlikely that Carroll will get the chance to nick a win or even have a chance at an equalizer as a late super sub in this one.

Because although the club has been performing better over the last eight games, with only two losses over that stretch, expecting a result here against the unbeaten and top scoring side in the Premiership seems a bit of wishful thinking. I see this as a 3-0 defeat. And one could make a case that it would still be an improvement over recent fixtures vs the Citizens for West Ham United.

Jeremiah: 3-1 to City

To be honest do we really know the result of a West Ham match? We play the “West Ham way” and lose games we should win and win games we should lose. Additionally, I never like to get negative on the Hammers but this week I think I will.

This Man City team is once again on point and rocking. My disappointment lies in the fact that still we can’t finish and still we can’t seem to have heart and good communication. I’m a believer in Pellegrini and his 3 year plan and I understand it won’t happen over night. That being said… close your eyes, in my opinion, this weekends match could look rough! Win, lose, or draw I’m in but this weekend might get rough! I will scream till the very end no matter what but I don’t have much faith this weekend if I’m being completely unbiased. COME ON YOU IRONS!

Scott: 2-1 to City

This might seem a bit tight to the neutral, but I have a feeling that we could see something close to West Ham’s full potential today. Whilst it won’t be enough to get the best of Guardiola’s city side, it will hopefully produce a good game and give us the confidence to go into the next few games with our heads held high.

Other, more positive fans may think I’m being overly pessimistic if I think this is the best result we can get, but I think City are a special side. Quite simply they could beat any side in the world at the moment, and we are not world class. They have strength throughout and a manager with a set game plan who loves his players. I’ve predicted 2-1, but I could see City running riot.
