Felipe Anderson

Position: MID (Winger/No.10)

Price: 6.8m

Ownership: 2.5%

Pros: Top 10 for Chances created in the league, creative flair player

Cons: Shot shy, inconsistent

Felipe Anderson is West Ham’s record signing and so far he has been highly inconsistent. He has had some sparkling games and other games where he has looked very sluggish. Hopefully he will hit his stride in these games where he won’t have overly much defending to do. Against Spurs he was at fault for their goal, and was too occupied by Trippier to be an issue himself.

Anderson has all the ingredients to be a top Premier League winger, but so far he doesn’t seem to use them all at once. He has blistering pace, decent ball control and exceptional vision. However he doesn’t seem to want to take his man on too often, and is unwilling to take on long shots. If he can attack a bit more directly he could start racking up the FPL points.

This pick is a tough one because he hasn’t really produced yet, and there are a lot of other options around this price mark. But with the fixtures ahead I think he could pick up 4 or 5 goals over that time, and at least a couple of assists. Given his consistency so far though, he could also blank and continue to frustrate all the Hammers fans around. Potentially explosive, but also hair pullingly agonising as well.
