West Ham travel to Goodison Park this weekend in an effort to pick up their first Premier League poitns of the season. Can they buck the trend and take all three? Or will Pellegrini be chief of the Hammers’ worst ever Premier League start?

Adam – Everton 2 -2 West Ham

This match should be a solid measuring stick for West Ham. Excuses aside the team has seen Premier League competition now and knows the style of play that is required to win. Everton are also a mirror to West Ham in a lot of way, on the precipice of taking the next step and spending a lot of money in squad investment. Everton are also currently thin on players due to injury concern so despite their vast spending in the summer window West Ham should have the upper hand in team selection

An interesting story line in this match should be the impact Bernard has on the the Everton team. This will be his debut Premier League match and it comes against West Ham a team very much in on potentially signing him this summer. Battle of the Brazilians sounds like a solid billing for West Ham as Anderson needs to do something, while Bernard will look to make an impact early and justify his loft wages. I am expecting a tight affair in the first half but for play to open up as legs get tired in the second half.

Jeff – Everton 1-1 West Ham

News has been mostly quiet from the West Ham Camp during the international break. As the club prepares to return to action with Everton away at the weekend, I am not feeling much better about things than I was after the loss to Wolves. Yes, Everton is coming into this match at less than full strength and they didn’t look too great themselves the last time out.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

But this is all about the Hammers and specifically how Manuel Pellegrini utilized the break to get his side better fit so that they can approach this game with a greater intensity and urgency all over the pitch for the full 90. I believe I already know what the formation and line up is going to be against the Toffees. What I am watching for is the player’s body language and confidence. This is always a tough place to win and I don’t think the Irons get all 3 points here. But I do think any result will do wonders at the moment and that’s why I see the Hammers drawing with a depleted Everton side 1-1. COYI

Jeremiah – Everton 1-1 West Ham

That God the international break is over and we can get back to football. As a West Ham you have to admit it was a needed break on our hearts and hopefully our Hammers! As an optimist fan I have hope that we can turn our first 4 games around but Everton is know easy foe either.

This matchup could be an excited opportunity for both clubs records signings to shine! But more importantly it’s an opportunity for both clubs to show they are better than they have shown so far. I don’t think we will have the connectivity needed to win but I hope we can show enough growth over the break to pull out a draw. The light is not out yet Hammers fans but we must stick together and push our team ahead!

Next. What formation will Pellegrini play at everton?. dark

Scott – Everton 2 – 1 West Ham

Sorry to be the pessimistic one of the group, but at the moment I can’t see anything but an Everton win. Yep they have a lot of injuries but their side is running on more confidence than us and I think that could put them in the driving seat for the match. But that being said, I think the range of potential results in this match is anything.

West Ham have a number of talented players who are yet to show really what they have in their locker and if they all click we could walk away from most games in the league with a win. Will we get one here? I have my doubts, but I hope Pellegrini has got the defence looking more cohesive after the break. If he proves me wrong you won’t find a happier Hammer anywhere around.
