The International Break is upon us and times are already looking bleak for West Ham and the gaffer.

Obviously, the pundits were out in force after just one week, that is what we do as fans of football in general.  However, there is hope, a light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.  Calm down people!  It’s the beginning of the season.  So help ease your pain, let me play the role of a defense attorney for the gaffer in The Case for West Ham and Manuel Pellegrini.

The Opening Statement

I would like to open on The Case for West Ham and Manuel Pellegrini by stating the obvious, we are only 4 league matches in and for all intensive proposes, he is new to the team and so is about 60 percent of the starting eleven.  Yes, in some cases there is what we call beginners luck and the manager and team will thrive for a time before slowing down but that is not always the case.

Look up Bilic for example, his Hammers team started out great and we had a good year that season but the honeymoon only lasted so long.  My opening argument is strictly business, when you begin a project do you give up after a month? No you have to try and move things around until you find what sticks and then role with it.

What is success?

I solid question to ask would be: Who do you think the most successful manager for West Ham has been in the past ten years? Hilariously, it would probably by Sam Allardyce and he only produced roughly a 38% winning percentage, the same as Slaven Bilic but Fat Sam gets praise for bringing us back to the Premier League, whilst Bilic led the Hammers to their best Premier League season. But is that what you want for our club?

No, if it was we wouldn’t have run Sam out and called for Slaven’s head after just a few years. We wanted change and to be a World Class club.  Completely no disrespect to either of those two but that was not the direction we would have gone. We got exactly what we wanted and now all of a sudden we are calling for MP’s head as well? Doesn’t that seem ludicrous people?

My Closing Statement

Are we a passionate fan-base? Yes, potentially the most passionate in all of English Football.  Do we want to win and looks good doing it? Yes, who doesn’t and the fact is that we have a winning manager that has won at every level and every cup he has been a part of. Were we successful before Manuel Pellegrini? No, almost relegation last year before that we were in the bottom half of the table. The main problem that most businesses, clubs, or people in general have is that when they make a change they never give it time to see what it really can to.  The Case for West Ham and Manuel Pellegrini is just that.  We have to give him time to show us that he can and will win and that the players he selected will grow and learn his style of play and gel together from it.

Next. Pellegrini deserves current scrutiny. dark

I will be the first to tell you that I am an inpatient person and have had my concerns but i believe in Manuel Pellegrini and you should too.  He is the man we wanted and got, now we must give him time to thrive and show us what he can do!  Enjoy the break and Come On You Irons!
