Alright I get it, it’s the beginning of the season and West Ham have a new manager and 10 new players. It’ll take time right?
So somebody please tell me why I’ve got that West Ham feeling all over again? Why am I disappointed? Why am I angry? What is going on with the Hammers faithful?
Ultimately, I blame myself. I, like many others have gotten fired up by the prospect of having spent money! Not to mention we signed a world-class gaffer for the first time in most recent memory. All offseason I believe we have been blessed at every turn with most of what we wanted so how could anything go wrong? How could our season start off poorly?
In someway, we forgot we were West Ham United and forgot that finishing in the top ten was a good thing. I believe we have brainwashed ourselves into thinking it wouldn’t take time to perform and gel together.

The results
It is common knowledge now that our first two weeks didn’t pan out how we hoped. A dismal showing against Liverpool (potential league champions) and then a lacklustre performance against Bournemouth last week. It honestly simple, the reason I’ve got that West Ham feeling all over again is because our team isn’t forming and the fans have begun the bombardment of the club after just two weeks.
Its taken me all week to gain my words for last weeks performance and I’m still at a loss when I think about it. I understand that we are new and need to gel and I know I along with plenty of West Ham fans got my hopes up with the promising off season but we have to chill out of the degradation of players and coaches already. I cannot remember a period of time in my history as a fan that us the fans have been so judgmental so quickly on the players and staff.
The Plan
In the words of the Righteous Brothers We’ve lost that loving feeling and we need it back. I’ve devised a three-step plan to get our hearts and minds back in check.
1. Calm down it’s only week three.
2. We need to come together and pull for our club not try to tear them apart, and
3. Find comfort in the fact we have an actual world-class manager that knows what he’s doing!
Rest easy fellow Hammers I have a feeling that my thought of having that West Ham feeling all over again will be over as soon as we come together and give them time! Arsenal is the week so show up and cheer and as always, COME ON YOU IRONS!
