IT”S TRANSFER WINDOW TIME! So hold onto your hats as West Ham spend the summer being linked with every player under the sun!

Every transfer window the proportion of rubbish stories linking us with players seems to increase. Whereas before there would be 30 stories and 5 or 6 are true, now there’s still only 5 or 6 true stories but over 50 bogus rumours floating around the internet. But hopefully we can point out where good West Ham transfer stories are, and where the rumours begin.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

Earlier this week we told you that the club was apparently closing in on a move for 19 year old from Derby, but according to reliable insider ExWhuEmployee that move has fallen through. But there are other rumours doing the rounds.

In and Out

Firstly, and easiest to deal with, Michail Antonio is wanted by Palace, but the offer they submitted was “not worth listening to”. Players with any potential are expected to be judged in pre-season first. Pellegrini is a diligent man and he does not want to sell players he may find useful.

Secondly, the Hammers could well be interested in another pacey winger: Boro’s Adama Traore. Whilst he has spent the last season in the Championship he has proven to be a consistent performer. His pace should also translate back into the Premier League, adding a truly explosive option.

The club were linked with him last season, but a deal fell through in July. The club are still said to be interested and the player, like many of his age, wants to play at the top level possible. The Hammers can certainly offer that.

Next: 5 players Pellegrini must decide what to do with

One thing that will have changed from last season is the price. The figure that was being bandied around last season was around 8m. This season it’s likely to be closer to 20m, if not more. That might give Pellegrini pause for thought. Would someone like Shaqiri, although not as youthful or pacey, be better value for a rumoured 14-15m?
