Manuel Pellegrini is looking to return to the Premier League. If a wage deal can be sorted, I want him to be the next West Ham manager.

With David Moyes gone and a lot of names circling, who will be next manager is anyone’s guess. Rafa Benitez and Unai Emery are big names in the media, and the fans seems to want Benitez to come in. For me, the man who should get the West Ham job is Manuel Pellegrini.

Whilst he doesn’t get the plaudits of some of the flashy managers, or get as much media time as the controversial ones, Pellegrini gets results. He has taken Malaga and Villareal into the Champions League, and won trophies at City. Every time he has taken over he has gone about his job, working out the best way to play.

No club too big or small

Although people think he didn’t succeed at Madrid, he was only given a year. In that year they signed multiple big names and didn’t give Pellegrini a say in who went or stayed. He still guided them to a Madrid record (at the time) 96 points in the league, even if that was a second place finish. And for those who think he isn’t flashy, his Man City team scored 150 goals in a season. With 102 goals in the Premier League season, that’s only 4 short of Guardiola’s City.

And the fact that he’s done well in tough situations, like his time at Malaga, is also a big plus. There he had a small budget due to financial issues and lost some key players like Cazorla and Rondon. But he still got them to the quarter finals of the Champions League, losing out to Atletico. Here is a man who can work with what he’s given, and push the players to give their all.

Next: Will Hammers cough up for Benitez?

His work as an engineer gives him his nickname, and I really think he could be the man to work this club into the position it deserves to be in. With time, backing and support from the fans this is a man who could spend the next 5 years giving us a platform to go on from and push for trophies at the same time. Benitez is a good choice as well, but for me Pellegrini is the man for the job. There is an issue about his wages because he is on a lot in China, but if there’s a deal to be made I would strongly encourage the board to make it.
