West Ham returned to winning ways at the weekend with a 2-0 win over Watford.

It’s been a bumpy ride over the past few weeks for West Ham and David Moyes. After having a poor January transfer window, getting dumped out of the FA Cup by Wigan and thumped by Brighton, Moyes was suddenly looking less than happy in the dugout. But he found a way to get back on top of that.

A win over mid-table, if injury hit, Watford will do the team a world of good. Arnautovic is back, the midfield seems more solid and Chicharito is scoring goals. With people still to return from injury as well, the season run in could be a good one for the Hammers.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

For the first half of the season Chicharito has had many detractors. After being played out of position and then not at all he was really struggling on the pitch. However with three goals in the last four starts he is really beginning to shows why we got him. Playing forward with attacking players around him, he was a real danger at the weekend.

I have said since the start that Chicharito was a luxury striker. He is not going to play as a linkup man too often, but he is invaluable if you have players threatening the defence already. With Arnautovic/Antonio/Mario drawing attention the Mexican is always going to be dangerous. Even his disallowed goal is a great sign, as the offside call was extremely close.

However it is Arnautovic that has shown the fee we paid Stoke was not wasted after all. Given his previous attitude issues he has knuckled down and produced game after game. Whilst injury has kept him out of the goals, his desire to constantly get on the ball and drive at defenders will see him a fan favourite for a long time to come if his workrate remains.

With Lanzini to come back and Mario solidifying the midfield already, West Ham are looking up. Moyes may even begin to plan for the future, with a top half finish now in reach for the Hammers.
