West Ham have had a turbulent international break, with a new manager coming in. Thankfully rumours of star striker Hernandez wanting out were wide of the mark.

It’s always a tricky time for a club when appointing a new manager. With a drastic change in personalities at the top of the club, some people will be pleased and others not so. So it was a worry to West Ham that Moyes and Chicharito may have a negative history. Especially when rumours emerged the Mexican wanted out.

However the striker has confirmed on social media that there is no story here, and he is commited to the club. Given he is only a few months into a supposedly long contract that is not a surprising comment. But it’s always good to read it from the person themselves.

If you don’t speak Spanish, translated the tweet reads something like:

"“Completely false. I am 100% commited to improving the situation we are all experiencing at West Ham. As always I have to say I am a Chivas fan, however I have not asked to leave West Ham at any time.”"

This isn’t the first rumour the Mexican has had to refute and it won’t be the last. He is a huge celebrity figure in Mexico and it only follows that he is going to have a lot of news stories written about him. It’s good that he came out and nipped this in the bud before it became a problem.

Obviously there is going to be some history between Moyes and Chicharito, but the circumstances are different. Moyes last saw Chicharito at United where he had other strikers like Van Persie and a prime Wayne Rooney. Now he has Sakho and Carroll as other choices. So hopefully they can both be professionals.

If Moyes can get Hernandez scoring and contributing more regularly, it’ll be a huge asset to the club. The former United striker has got on the scoresheet a few times but he has more to offer. It’s up to the manager to get the most out of him now.
