Alvaro Arbeloa has had his say on twitter over West Ham sacking Bilic. But he should never comment on our club ever again.

When ex-players comment on current happenings it’s not too strange now. A lot of them work in the media and they offer a different perspective. But there are certain people I’m not too bothered about hearing from about certain clubs. Arbeloa and West Ham are one of those combinations.

The Spaniard was obviously a very good player. You don’t win World Cups and Champions Leagues without being so. However the talent of the player isn’t the issue here. It’s the fact he caused his own downfall at the club, and with Slaven Bilic.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

Arbeloa’s comment on twitter smacks of being unprofessional. Whilst they may not have seen eye to eye, to think that Bilic wasn’t trying to get the best out of the club whilst he was there is ridiculous, and out of the two Bilic certainly gave more.

Arbeloa never really hit the ground at West Ham. He struggled to keep up with the pace of the game, and never looked too bothered. Even when he was played in his favoured right back position he looked sulky. Did he not realise that by signing for the Hammers he wouldn’t be challenging for league titles?

There were also stories coming out of the training ground regarding Arbeloa’s arrogance around Bilic. There were rumours that Arbeloa kicked out at a youth player during a drill, and when challenged on it by the Croat the Spaniard replied that he couldn’t be told what to do because he had won far more than Bilic could ever dream of. That’s not the kind of player you want around your team, especially youngsters.

Whilst many Hammers fans have commented about Bilic leaving in a similar fashion, you have to earn the right to comment on the club like that. If you’ve not given your all and sponged as much money as Arbeloa, you can jog on as far as I care.
