West Ham visited Tottenham at Wembley on Wednesday night, and had a wonderful night.
It was an unforgettable Wednesday Night. What seemed to be impossible is now a reality thanks to a wonderful second hal! West Ham beat Spurs to 3-2 and have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Sissoko and Dele Alli scored the goals for the host side, but in the second half, Andre Ayew scored twice and Obgonna grabbed the third and gave a victory for the Irons.
The game was completely unexpected for every football fan for two things. Firstly, the Hammers are having a difficult time in the Premier League. Secondly, in the first period, they suffered two goals playing against Spurs without any desire or reaction. However, everything changed in the last 45 minutes.

First Half
Slevan Bilic set a 3-5-2 formation, with Byram and Creswell playing as the wingbacks/midfielders aligning with Noble, Lanzini and Fernandez in the middle. The big surprise, or not too big, was Andy Carroll as the main forward and the return of Andre Ayew.
If Bilic or the fans had some hope before the game this it was seemingly ended at the first goal from Tottenham in the 6th minutes. Son opened the counter-attack, the South-Korean took an advantage of his skills and hit the ball to Sissoko, the Frenchmen run into the middle and slid the ball into the net.
The second goal came from Dele Alli, after a huge glance off of the Irishman Rice. The Englishman took advantage of the inexperienced younger Irons defender to increase the lead.
After suffering two goals the visitors looked lost on the pitch. Only Manuel Lanzini tried to change the game taking the ball and pushing in all regions of the pitch. However, he had Carroll near to him in attack, which did not help at all.

Second Half
The visitors returned out with a different behaviour after the break. The Hammers put pressure on Tottenham’s penalty area, threatening them with Edimilson Fernandes, which pushed Spurs’ keeper Michel Vorm into some good defence.
It took almost 15 minutes for the Hammers to turn up at the game, according to our colleague Gary Pearson from Hotspurs HQ.
It began in the 55th minute Michael Vorm, who was replacing Hugo Lloris, saved a ball, but at the same time, he gave to Andre Ayew the chance to decrease the scoreboard deficit. Thus, the Ghana International only had to slip the ball into the Spurs’ net.
With only four minutes after the first goal, Ayew equalised the match. Andy Carroll, who was having the worst performance in the 11, switched the pass to Lanzini. The Argentinian saw Ayew and gave him a simple opportunity. The winning goal came from Obgonna when he got the third and unexpected goal at the 69 minutes.
This result has had two major impacts. Firstly it has buoyed the West Ham fans in a time of low morale. However it has also prolonged the stay of Slaven Bilic, at least until after Saturday! Which is interesting because, until half time, the Croat seemed to show it was his last match in charge.
