West Ham must remove Bilic as manager to see any progress.
With the club now sitting above the relegation zone on goal difference, things are looking bad for the Hammers. This is a far cry from Bilic being hailed as the next big thing after leading West Ham to their highest ever points finish in the Premier League, with very few positives coming out of comprehensive defeats.
Even fans that thought they would never call for him to go are relenting. The match against Brighton was an awful showing, and it looked as though the Croat had no ideas. A manager must be able to adapt and as I’ve been saying for some time, Bilic doesn’t seem to be able to.

Options
Well it’s a tough time to try and appoint a manager. Any manager still at a club is obviously looking forward to the rest of a season. Those who have been fired are probably not a great option and the idea of having to muddle through till January with an obviously disjointed squad isn’t too appealing anyway.
Firing Bilic to replace him with further deadwood would be pointless. As I said before, the time to replace Bilic was at the end of last season. That would have given the new manager a full summer of training and signings with which to impact the squad. Now it’ll be a tough job to get any change at all.
There are reports coming out that the board may look at a caretaker option. Whilst this may look pointless, it could be the best option all round. It would mean removing the manager and placating the fans, whilst giving the board enough time to look and find a managerial option they are happy to have at the club long term.
Next: Martinez and Holland should get first team chances
The fans will not accept another delay in the promised progress from the Davids. The club have left their long term home and failed to implement changes. This club feels more perilous than ever and it certainly doesn’t feel like challenging the top 5. The next managerial choice could be a make or break option for the board.
