Wingers
Michail Antonio
He was our best performer on Monday, and he looks a real danger at all times. Over the summer he seems to have worked on the technical side of his game, because his close control so far this season has been top notch. Adding that to his raw pace and power could make him one of the best wingers in the Premier League.
If he can add a consistent final product I think that Antonio could really help West Ham reach new heights. Even when he hasn’t been polished he has been extremely effective and that is priceless. Players can be technically gifted by have no idea how to score, Antonio has managed to grab goals by any means necessary in recent years.
Marko Arnautovic
He’s back from suspension, and straight back in to my starting XI. I don’t usually have much patience for stupid players, but if Arnautovic does atone from his stupid sending off and push on then he will be a great signing for the Hammers. He is another natural goalscorer and a really tough character.
This does mean that Chicharito won’t start in this role. I thought he looked really out of sorts on the left wing and although he worked really hard this is not his role. If he plays he must be central, and I think Bilic wants Carroll in that spot. Bilic must find a way to get those players in the middle together if they are to play on the same pitch. If not then he has a real issue about what system to play.
