West Ham United vs Huddersfield: Preview and Predictions
By Amanda Paula
West Ham take Huddersfield on Monday in the fourth Premier League Week at the London Stadium.
West Ham have had a tough season; three straight losses in three matches. I must say that in my Irons’ XI prediction, the Hammers will have two absences. That only adds to the pressure to win this match.
In the defence line, Winston Reid should return to partner with James Collins and Marko Arnautovic remains suspended, which requires an urgent reposition for the East-London side.
At the same time, the new Premier League boy Huddersfield is coming from a great season start and are unbeaten. With the self-confidence after good results against Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Southampton respectively, they should be a tough adversary for the Hammers.
Why West Ham could win
On paper, West Ham have a better squad than Huddersfield, but we have seen bad results. This does not change the possibility that the Hammers take their first win on Monday. With a good team, the talents that the Irons has would make a difference, especially with the possible absence of Manuel Lanzini. The Croat may change his tactics to 4-4-2 aligning Andre Ayew with Andy Carroll and Chicharito to make goals. Moreover, as I said Slaven Bilic might have Carroll’s return on Monday to be on the regular squad.
After three weeks, we expect that the side has a more a chemistry and experience on the ground to get the victory at home. Otherwise, we shall see another disappointing defeat.

Why Huddersfield could win
With the impressive start of the Premier League season, Huddersfield could steal the Hammers smile and take another win. The Town has three matches unbeaten and according to Huddersfield Examiner, they made 69 tackle in those matches. With any other impressive stats facing a club coming from bitter defeats, it will be almost-normal say that they have a good chance to beat the Hammers away. Plus, the Irons will have three absences, this is the situation that is favouring the Yorkshire team.
Predicted Lineup
West Ham
Joe Hart, Zabaleta, Collins, Reid, Creswell; Koyaté, Noble; Ayew, Antonio, Andy Carroll and Chicharito.
Huddersfield
Jonas Lössl; Smith, Löwe, Schindler, Jorgense; Billing, Mooy, Rajiv van la Parra, Kachunga, Tom Ince; Mounie.

Verdict
Even with terrible performances, I must say that the Irons are still favourites to win this game. Huddersfield have the recent results, but the club from East-London are more talented (perhaps on paper) and I truly believe that something talent makes all the difference on the field. Especially playing at the home, nevertheless, I think we could suffer one goal.
