West Ham have missed out on a lot of business this summer.  One piece they should make is a loan move for Bayern Munich cast off Renato Sanches.

Remember when Renato Sanches took the Euro’s by storm when Portugal won?  Remember how he was a huge purchase for Bayern Munich and going to be the midfielder who knocked Paul Pogba off his throne?

Just remember those moments and then delight in the knowledge that Bayern are looking for a loan of some sort to kickstart the young players back into high gear following a truly dismal Bundesliga season.

Why Loan?

West Ham should take advantage of this situation by offering Bayern Munich a way out.  Bayern will want to see their investment work out in the long term.  The Irons need help now.  Sanches, even on a bad day, is more of a gem than any single player in the West Ham locker room.  If the Hammers can secure a one or even two year loan (say nothing of that impossible transfer) then Bayern could accept it.

The competition is too close in the Champions League at Bayern for them to really take a risk on players like Sanches if they’re not playing well.  West Ham though are in the perfect place.  The Premier League is competitive enough week in and week out to meet the standards Bayern will need Sanches to learn from especially since he’ll spend 10 matches playing against Champions League level opponents.

Sanches’ style of play may also adapt better to the Premier League than the Bundesliga at least at this point in his life.  He’s a wildly physical and athletic player who sometimes falls behind technically.  It’s not for lack of effort it just happens because mentally the game hasn’t slowed down for him yet.  He would immediately improve the midfield, who are often outclassed and overrun leaving the defense to try and play as some sort of Great Wall against the opponents.
