West Ham fans are beginning to grow worried about lack of action in the transfer market.
Despite the quick signing of Zabaleta, many West Ham fans want action in the transfer market. The past few seasons have seen targets not signed due to prolonged negotiations, or other teams moving in quicker. It is a tricky business and the fans are anxious.
With many players currently linked to the club it is always encouraging, but people want results. However are we really lagging behind other Premier League clubs?

Reality Check
No. This is still very early on in the transfer window, and despite some money being thrown around by newspapers the actual number of transfers done so far is minimal. Yes Everton have spent money to get two players in. Yes Manchester City have opened their chequebooks as well. But apart from that no-one else in the Premier League has signed more than one player.
Not including loans that have become transfers, West Ham are keeping pace with the league. United have splashed out on a defender, Bournemouth have brought in Boruc. There are spatterings of moves but a lot of moves so far are free transfers like Liverpool’s for Solanke or Arsenal’s for Kolasinac.
I know it is frustrating to see names linked but no movement, but it does take time. A lot of players are on holiday and don’t want to deal with transfers. In our case Slaven Bilic has recently had surgery, so isn’t able to be in and around the club so often.

The signing of Pablo Zabaleta covered the problem right back area. The board, and other club officials, have made it clear that there is no way we will not sign a striker this summer. There will be transfers, and they will be done as reasonably possible. But they will not be rushed.
I expect more movement in the next couple of weeks, and if not much is done in a months time then I will begin to worry. But for now, sit back and enjoy the summer. Rumours will come and go, but transfers will start to materialize.
