West Ham will meet Manchester United at their first match of the season on August 12
The Premier League fixtures have been announced the for the 2017-18 season. Many West Ham fans have become concerned about this fixture lineup. Especially because, the Irons will face Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 12, then will face Southampton and Newcastle United away. The Southampton game is not going to be played at home due to Athletics at the London Stadium
However, the first game playing at home is against the Premier League new boys, Huddersfield Town in September. It means that the Hammers have a lot of work to do in pre-season to handle that hard work at the start of the season. Will West Ham be able to beat Man United, Southampton and Newcastle away?

A difficult mission but not impossible
Ok, we have to agree that the news about facing the Red Devils on our first match is pretty uncomfortable. Nevertheless, we beat Chelsea and Tottenham last season and I believe that the Hammers can win these games.
For two reasons: Firstly, the Irons tactics are not like Mourinho’s team, the Hammers have more consolidated group than United. Secondly, we are not the favourite. It is something that’s been shown to the world in the past few years, but United lose many points because they do not know how to handle favourite tag it is given against the not so trendy clubs.
Southampton went through an inconsistent season last year. The last year they worked with Claudio Puel at the head, but the Frenchman suffered problems with adaptation and his tactical expertise didn’t work out as expected, thus he was sacked after one season in charge. With this uncertain future into the Saints, we have an advantage above them. Therefore, my predictions are that we shall win even if we are not at home.

Newcastle United is a club with great history; however, they were relegated two years ago and now are in the Premier League again. However, they are not the favourite here, we are. The Hammers could win this match, but the club from East-London needs to prepare. This won’t be an easy game, much the opposite, and one victory at St James’ Park would be a great start for the season.
