Could West Ham bring two Manchester City veterans to London?
It’s coming up to the end of the season. West Ham are safe, and must build for the next year. Let silly season commence.
As such there are rumours flying around all over the place about who West Ham will sign. We won’t report on all of them here because otherwise it’d be a non-stop bombardment of us listing anyone who has ever played up front or anyone who’s played in goal.
But there are some strong rumours that the club is looking to Manchester to strengthen this summer. And whilst their top players are obviously out of reach, some of the more experienced players are not. The Hammers have been linked repeatedly with Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta.

Adding Experience
Slaven Bilic has repeatedly stated that the current squad is not where he wants it to be. He wants to add at both ends of the age spectrum and sign talented youngsters, but also experienced heads to help the squad get a winning mentality built in.
Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta would be great examples of experienced hands to add. They are good enough to get playing in our squad, and would help no end in regards to mentoring.
Zabaleta especially would be a great help to a player like Byram who has raw talent, but no-one currently in the squad who can help him nurture that talent into a Premier League player. The fact that Zabaleta plays an attacking style of wingback is perfect as well. Given that he is out of contract in the summer, this could be an extremely savvy buy.
Yaya Toure is more of a gamble, but he does have star quality. Whilst he can’t play every single game any more in his box to box style, he is still good enough to impact most games at the top level. He will be a more expensive acquisition but Slaven Bilic reportedly views him as worth it.

What do you think? Would these two signings be worth it? Or should Bilic be looking at the younger end of the spectrum?
