West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is not lookingvery comfortable right now. A string of defeats and shaky performances have seen many fans question his position.

Whether it be his questionable team decisions, or his focus on attack rather than the leaky defence, many have questioned Bilic’s mental process this season. A superb first season at west Ham has been largely forgotten, with many feeling he could be sacked.

A mini revival had brought hope, but that has been extinguished of late. With the side conceding goals from all over the pitch, the end may be coming faster than Bilic wanted. The question remains, would Bilic still be manager if he wasn’t an ex Hammer?

Time Up For Bilic?

It’s always hard to get back into winning ways when the cause is hard to root out. Is it the style of the midfielders? Are the defenders working well enough together? Or maybe there just isn’t a high enough shot conversion rate.

Well quite simply the team is conceding too many goals at the moment. The fact that Slaven Bilic is claiming the side needs goals is stupid, especially when the team only sits above Bournemouth and Swansea for goals conceded. So is he not being backed by the board? Is that the reason he’s not getting the side he needs?

According to transferleague.co.uk Bilic is being backed more heavily than any other West Ham manager in Premier League history. Obviously there is a bit of inflation to take into account, but a net spend (buys minus sales) of almost 25m a season is a fair amount for any manager in the Premier League.

He’s also brought all of his own staff in, so he can’t have complaints there. This season was always going to be tough with the stadium move, but quite simply it’s not enough at the moment. If Allardyce in charge I have no doubt there would be protests in the stands. I agree that Bilic did extremely well last year, but to me he is showing a huge amount of inflexibility.

Most winning sides in the League have shown their need to be flexible when required, but the Hammers haven’t. Bilic must learn to adapt or we must hold him to the same standards we held Allardyce. It doesn’t matter if he is an ex player, he must produce results on the pitch.
