West Ham’s striker search will begin again in the summer. It’s no secret that everyone at the club wants to improve the striking options.
Many around the club have tried to solve the striking crisis at West Ham. Now the days where the fans moaned about Bobby Zamora and Marlon Harewood seem an age ago with a steady cycle of strikers coming into the club and leaving after making almost no impact.
As such the fans have been crying out for the club to spend money. It’s the most expensive position because everyone knows how valuable goals are. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that you can’t win if you don’t score. So far the board has resisted the calls to do so.
But bookmakers have made the club favourites to sign two different strikers this summer, raising hopes this may be about to change.

The Arsenal man hasn’t been given many chances since his signing in the summer. However that doesn’t seem to have dampened the Hammers’ interest in the player. Ladbrokes are reportedly offering as low as 7/4 for West Ham to sign the striker in the summer.
This may seem like a strange move for the striker, and I still think he is more likely to head back to Spain. However if he is intent on making a name in the Premier League, East London would be a perfect place for him to do that.
There are also few ‘bigger’ clubs that would be interested in him. Why would they take a punt on someone who can’t get a game at a club with three out and out strikers? And one of them is Sanogo?
He would also like to stay in London, as most foreign players who settle there do. As such the Hammers may have an advantage there. The Metro also reports that the club have made an approach to Arsenal already, so who knows?

Quite simply, this is the signing I wanted the club to make last summer. It would give us experience and talent at the top to build attacks around. And it is fairly likely to happen given the connections to the club and the player.
Slaven Bilic is a keen admirer of his fellow Croat, and Juventus are happy to do business with East London. As a financially secure club, they accept deals with delayed payment, which our board are big fans of.

This would be a savvy signing, but the fans may want more. Which striker do you think our club will end up signing? The metro has also reported that Michy Batshuayi is set to leave on a two year loan. Would that be good for the side?
