West Ham lose 3-2 away and were poor today, two first half penalty misses by Bournemouth kept the score line at only three.
West Ham were looking at getting back to winning ways after some stagnation in prior matches. Would the Hammers get much luck against an out of sorts Bournemouth? Or would their recent form continue?
Darren Chapman was at the game today and gives us his review straight from the fans at the match.

Clumsy defending
Bournemouth were awarded a penalty within the first ten minutes of the game, just like our last away match at Watford. Only this time the ball was smashed wide of Darren Randolph`s post. Forty-eight seconds later, up the other end Feghouli made amends for his clumsy penalty challenge. He fed the ball through to the very much missed Antonio, who turned brilliantly. Swivelling on his right foot and smashing it past the keeper with his left. It was a great finish and his ninth of the season.
Sloppy
Bournemouth dominated the game and certainly targeted our right-back spot. With a makeshift rightback in it was no surprise they equalized in the 31st minute. And of course the goal scorer was the man who missed the spot kick earlier, Josh King.
Then yet again poor defending, this time Jose Fonte gave away a penalty – the second of the first half, luckily it was put down the middle and straight at Randolph. Bournemouth missed two first half penalties and the Hammers went in at the break very lucky not to be three or four goals down.
Second half woes
Just like Monday night`s game against Chelsea we conceded within the first five minutes of the second half, and again from a set piece, the ball was whipped into the penalty area for Josh King to tap it home for 2-1. Bournemouth could and should have wrapped the game up but luckily for the Hammers their finishing was poor.
Late hope but couldn’t hold out for a point
Second half substitutes Sam Bryam and Andre Ayew combined brilliantly for a late equalizer. Byram with some superb work down the right, whipping the ball into the box for Ayew to grab his third of the season. West Ham would have settled for a point at this stage, and in truth we looked like the side that was going to grab the winner out of the two.
Next: Should Unwanted Hart be on West Ham radar?
The Hammers piled the pressure on and in my opinion should have had a late penalty themselves. The ball seemed like it struck Bournemouth right back Smith clearly on the hand, but it wasn’t given and as we see so many times in football from this Bournemouth went straight up the other end and scored. Josh King grabbing a hat-trick very late on, this killed the game which ended 3-2.
