West Ham Should Sign PSG Youngster
West Ham should sign Paris Saint Germain’s 20-year old youth star Fode Ballo-Toure.
And they should do it as soon as humanly possible this summer. He is a very talented young wing back and could be the future of the positon at the club. At the moment one of the only steady performers in the team is Aaron Cresswell so this is not necessarily a move for even next season. But if West Ham could sign Ballo-Toure and get him perhaps at the same loan destination at Reece Oxford the Hammers will have half of their defense solved for the foreseeable future.
It simply is too good a piece of business for West Ham to turn down. Cresswell is 27 years old and isn’t getting any younger. At the moment he is one of the best and most consistent players in the West Ham team but that can’t stop the Hammers from planning for the future. Ballo-Toure is going to be a legitimate star someday and if West Ham want to continue to grow they need to think 10 years in the future not simply about next season.

The Competition
Ballo-Toure is being chased by Everton, Tottenham and Liverpool at the moment so it is not going to be easy. The truth is even if it meant that West Ham should start him next season it would be worth doing. Cresswell can move up the pitch to left wing and Ballo-Toure can overlap. A stronger left-side of the pitch would be harder to find in the Premier League.
Another option, and bare with me, is moving Creswell to defensive midfield in a 4-3-3. He’s a very strong technical player who is excellent at winning the ball back. If he played as the anchor in midfield it could theoretically add a lot of strength and character to the spine of this team. Then with Ballo-Toure on the left and Oxford tucked in beside him they would not only benefit from Cresswell’s positional sense and motivation but his experience as well.

The truth is when deals like this are available you simply must take them. The Hammers are in the talent and potential business. Ballo-Toure’s potential is just simply too high for it to be overlooked, especially since it is for free.
