Believe

This one is a little less tangible, but the belief needs to remain within the West Ham side.

One of the most annoying things about the big defeats to the top sides has been the lack of fight after the first goal has gone in. As soon as the side are down, they’ve been very reluctant to get back up again.

When playing a side like West Brom the first goal can fall to either side. The home team need to get behind their style of play and not give up. Last week against Southampton was a perfect example of that, because despite conceding an early goal the whole side stuck to their task perfectly and they came back into the game.

But it can also be a struggle to get the first goal. If the first half is goalless that wouldn’t be a surprise, so West Ham must continue to plug away and carry on the way they should without panicking.

This will not be an easy game, but it is one the Hammers should be winning. If they can keep in mind these 5 things then they should do that.
